Alison is very concerned about the future of the Littlehampton Community Fridge which is struggling to find a new home. She is hoping that people in the community may be able to help.
On a recent visit to their base in Littlehampton, Alison was delighted to be invited recently to learn about the Fridge’s excellent work, as well as their struggle to find a new home. Their continued success in fighting food waste and supporting the local community is dependent on urgently finding new premises.
The Fridge redistributes donated surplus food, saving over 614 tonnes of food from landfill since its launch. The project offers more than just food: it serves as a social hub, promoting a sense of community and providing affordable food options at a fraction of retail prices.
The Littlehampton Community Fridge has become a lifeline for many families, and its work to reduce food waste is essential to our environmental goals.
Commenting, Alison said: "I urge local authorities, businesses, and residents to come forward with any ideas they have to secure a permanent home for the Fridge, so it can continue serving our community and helping the environment."
